Common reasons to act

  • A customer or tender specifies CHAS or SSIP compliance
  • You are applying for CHAS for the first time and are unsure which package or evidence is required
  • A renewal or upgrade deadline is approaching
  • An assessor has requested further evidence or clarification

What you receive

  • A written review of the evidence already available
  • A prioritised gap analysis aligned with the selected CHAS package
  • Review, updating or preparation of agreed policies, procedures and supporting records
  • Support organising evidence for submission and responding to assessor queries

Consultancy fees depend on the CHAS package, deadline and condition of the evidence already available. CHAS membership, assessment and any other charges made by CHAS are paid separately to CHAS.

Practical support

How Morgan Compliance Group can help

We begin by confirming why CHAS is required, the membership package requested and any applicable deadline.

We then review existing health and safety arrangements, insurance information, competence records and operational evidence against the relevant requirements.

Gaps are explained clearly and any agreed documents are prepared to reflect how the business genuinely operates, rather than being created solely for upload.

Our consultancy supports, but does not replace, your legal health and safety duties. Advice is given within the agreed scope and relies on accurate information from you. Accreditation and certification decisions are made independently by the relevant bodies. See our Terms of Service for full details.

How the process works

01

Confirm the requirement

Confirm whether the requirement relates to a first application, renewal or upgrade, together with the required package and deadline.

02

Review the evidence

Review current policies, arrangements, insurance information, competence records and supporting evidence.

03

Address the gaps

Agree priorities and prepare or update proportionate documents and records within the agreed scope.

04

Submit and respond

Organise the evidence for submission and support responses to assessor queries and future renewal planning.

Frequently asked questions

Which CHAS membership package do we need?

CHAS currently offers Standard, Advanced and Elite packages. The appropriate package depends on the requirements of your customer, tender or supply chain. We can help you review the stated requirement, but the final membership choice and acceptance criteria remain with CHAS and the organisation requesting it.

Is CHAS the same as SSIP?

CHAS is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement. CHAS Standard includes a health and safety assessment and SSIP verification, while the Advanced and Elite packages cover additional areas of prequalification and supply-chain compliance.

What evidence is normally required for a CHAS application?

The evidence depends on the selected package, business size, work activities and applicable duties. It may include health and safety policies and arrangements, risk assessments, training and competence records, insurance information, performance records and examples showing that the arrangements are used in practice.

Can you help with CHAS renewals or upgrades?

Yes. We can review what has changed since the previous assessment, identify expired or missing evidence and help prepare for a renewal or move to a different CHAS package.

Can you help if an assessor has requested more information?

Yes. We can review the assessor’s comments, identify what is outstanding and help prepare clear supporting evidence or corrective actions within the agreed scope.

Can you guarantee approval or confirm how long the process will take?

No. Veriforce CHAS makes the assessment decision and controls its assessment timescales. The preparation time depends on the selected package, deadline and condition of the existing evidence. We will explain the likely consultancy scope and timetable after the initial review.
